My Shoe Gurus Website Implementation

Picture

Summary:

  • Did competitive analysis of e-commerce products to determine best fit for client needs
  • Implemented low cost e-commerce solution which increased profits

Challenge:

JJB Brothers Uniforms and Safety footwear did not have a website and thought they were losing out on revenue due to this.  They had very little knowledge of E-Commerce and came to me with little to no idea of what they wanted other than an online presence.  I knew they needed a low cost solution that would allow customers to purchase items from them while tracking inventory and automatically generating receipts.  The back end for this solution needed to be usable by a low level computer user.

Process:

Once I gathered the requirements from JJB Brothers I did research on E-Commerce solutions,  I decided that since they needed something low cost and feature rich to go with an open source platform.  Through searching and recommendations I went with Prestashop.  I also helped them pick a domain name (which ended up being myshoegurus.com) and a web host.  Once we figured out those logistics I implemented the website and configured it to  have seamless integration with Paypal and Google checkout to avoid them being charged for setting up a relationship with a credit card company directly It took me about 3 months to implement, which is now live. I am still currently working on a logo redesign for them as well. Unfortunately their web site is currently down.
