Challenge:

This was a semester long project I worked on in a group of 3 for a course at the University of Michigan.  We were paired with a start up named Troubadour Mobile who wanted us to do some research for a social location sharing app.  The name of the app was going to be Let's Meet and the general idea was that you would be able to view your friend's locations and instantly communicate with them to meet up.  The main issues that needed to be dealt with were what the interface was going to look like and what features to include.

Process:

The first thing we did was figure out who our users were and we did this by interviewing students varying in age and nationality.  Based on the interview results we created several personas and scenarios, I specifically created the persona for Jimmy Gold.  Our next step was to brainstorm about potential application features and layouts.  We did this through some light flow diagramming and lo-fidelity sketching.  We then created some Hi-Fi mock ups and used them to create paper prototypes for User testing.  Once this was done we analyzed the results of the tests and made final design changes to the interface.  We then presented our findings. We wrapped up the Let's Meet project in December of 2008. I have included some of our sketches as well as the Personas and Hi-Fidelity mock-ups so check them out!
