DASA Services Website Redesign
Summary:
- Created new identity for site to increase traffic
- Utilized usability principles to design easy to use site
New Website (www.dasa-services.com)
Challenge:
I met Dave Hahn in late 2009 through a colleague of my father's who recommended his services as a career coach. The first thing I usually do when I am checking out a service is look at their website. I checked out Dasa-Services.com and was surprised to find a site that looked like it was created in about 1996! I told Dave I thought his site needed a makeover and he agreed, so I went to work! Dave's idea for his new site was to make it look like a professional portfolio, creating a nice metaphor for the services his company provides. Some other features that he wanted included a secure section of the site for clients as well as an external navigation file so he wouldn't have to edit multiple pages if he made a single change.
Process:
The first thing I did when I started to work with Dave was to have him pick 4-5 websites he liked and send them to me so I could get a feel for his taste. Once I took a look a what he wanted his site to look like I then started to create some sketches and wireframes. After several iterations of these I moved on to create Hi-Fi mock ups of the website. Once we agreed on a final design I went to work coding. I finished Dasa-Services.com in a little under three months. It is live and you can check it out at www.Dasa-Services.com. I have included some wireframes and mock ups that you can check out.
